Workshop Hamony Restaurant Danrin
[A popular inner room for mothers raising children. The food uses organic vegetables.]
The restaurant opened in 2014 and is run by the “Haamonii Employment Support Center for People with Disabilities.” Using the restaurant as a base, they also make boxed lunches to distribute to the elderly and cookies to sell. Beautiful potted plants welcome you at the entrance to the bright restaurant, and once inside, you’ll find rows of brightly colored chairs and tables that exude a clean feeling. The building was originally a sushi restaurant, and the renovation made use of the best parts of it, preserving them as they were. As a result, half of the front seats in the restaurant are barrier-free tables that allow easy access for strollers and wheelchairs. In contrast, there are two tatami rooms with tokonoma alcoves at the back. Both rooms overlook the courtyard through the veranda.
Currently, it is only open at lunchtime, but the tatami room in the back is very popular with mothers with babies. This is because the tatami space allows mothers to dine leisurely while taking care of their babies or small children. At lunchtime, many groups of mothers come to the restaurant with their children. In addition to the daily lunch, curry, spaghetti, and doria, a children’s lunch is also available.
The restaurant is committed to providing menus that both parents and children can enjoy, and all the vegetables used in the dishes are pesticide-free. This is a restaurant that also cares about health, so parents and children can relax and enjoy their meals with peace of mind.
